Sure - Luther Gullick's (1937) POSDCORB has been the basis of many organizations' structures, especially in the public sector. For example, the work of a typical city government and its executive is organized by departments that generally relate to these functions.

1. Planning – CAOs plan how to implement the decisions made by the governing body.

2. Organizing – CAO defines the best organizational structure to most effectively and efficiently ensure the success of policy implementation.

3. Staffing – Human Resources departments deal with staffing and employee issues.

4. Directing – This can be seen in the actions of a City Council, which makes decisions and direct the CAO to implement their visions.

5. Coordinating – CAO coordinates the activities of the department heads.

6. Reporting – This can include external reporting, too, meaning that a Public Information department reports operational information to the public.

7. Budgeting – Finance departments conduct the fiduciary activities.</description>
