Do all military personnel have courtesy classes in their daily training?

personnel training
JT asked:

Because all the military personnel I’ve talked to are very polite and have the same kind of courtesies with everyone. It’s like if those qualities are part of their day-by-day training.

Do they receive courtesy classes on how to address to people in general. They all answer the same way when they’re asked something, they treat ladies the same way, they greet the same way, well at least the ones I’ve work with are the same and I work with a military Joint task.

Customs and courtesy classes are a part of boot camp in the Navy.

Uhm…..no! We don’t. I am an a**hole and I am a recruiter. But, I am a human being who treats others the way I would like to be treated. So, I am in Boston, so I am usually nice for awhile until enough Bostonians are A**holes to me and I just revert back to my personality and treat everyone around here the way they should be treated.

But on a normal basis on a military installation, we are all very polite to each other, all courtesies are rendered to civilians and those of higher rank such as senior NCO’s and commissioned officers. I sometimes say sir to some of my older applicants because I am by nature a nice guy but realize I am the employer and have to be the boss sometimes.

But no special training believe me.

Not sure what they do now. all we were told in my day was treat civilains just like officers “Yes Sir/No Sir Yes Ma’am/No Ma’am” and to bring no disrespect upon the Army…….OR ELSE our pockets would not be ah changling and they would burn our young American *****.
