It might get your foot in the door. You could use your mil.benefits for a radiologist course. That would be a good start.
They may want you to have a certification in the state that you live in.

A radiologist is a doctor. I assume you are talking about a radiologic technologist. Every hospital I know only hires ARRT-registered or registry-eligible radiologic technologists.
