I’m not sure if there are that many on active duty. The only ones I’ve personally known were reservists activated after 9/11. Everywhere I’ve been they were DoD civilians.

Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX. That’s the only one.

That job is being phased out, there will be no more Army firefighters, they are leaving it to the civilian firefighters..sorry.

as i said to answer your other question…one don’t get much say in what you can be, or where you can go. shorthanded MOSs are priority, meaning the jobs people don’t really want. 63B, 88M, 11B….(Not meaning 11B is shorthanded, but more is better!)

very few Active duty Firefighters period. the Air Force is the only branch that trains their firefighters closest to a civilian FF, and they are currently pretty much the only branch that utilizes military FF on their bases. all shore installations for Navy and Marines are civilians, as are most of the Army’s.

the firefighters are 21M, part of the Engineers, i know there is only one place for firefighters to get MOS-Qed, it might be with the Air Force, but its a very small unit where-ever you go, promotions are going to be slow, and like ppl are saying they are getting phased out because its cheaper to just hire firefighters rather than keep a certain niche for them in the Engineers.
