Then you'll go to The basic school in Quantico for 6 months. Just like for the enlisted side "every Marine is a rifleman," every marine corps officer is trained to be an infantry officer. That's what TBS is for. After that you'll be trained in your MOS, that can vary widely from a few weeks to the aviation side, which my husband is doing, which has taken almost three years of additional training. onegater is right, after OCS you need to graduate from college and then receive your comission. There are I beleive three(maybe 4 of them) BOLC I is ROTC. BOLC II is the Basic Officer Course, and BOLC III is the Branching school. I beleive definatly for a fact the other branches have a similar system with differentt names. well in the Army they use something called a BOLC system. It's like Marine Corps Combat training for enlisted but it is focused on tasks and knowledge a new LT would need to lead a platoon of Marines. You will spend most of your time in the field doing FEX's (Field Exercises). After TBS then you go on to your MOS school.
